Therapy. Supervision. Consulting.

My Approach

Therapy, like life, happens in the context of relationships. Our first task will be to form our own. During this time I’ll hear from you about what’s going well in your life as well as what is feeling difficult or overwhelming. Our work can take several forms, but in all of them I value connection, humor, and authenticity.

I utilize several clinical modalities including EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy, somatic work, solution-focused therapy, design thinking and mindfulness techniques. Together we’ll work to find the right approach for you.

I know that therapy and systems of mental health are entrenched in oppressive language and practices that have profound limitations when they do not acknowledge power differentials between “client” and “professional,” when they limit ideas of family and identity and when they overlook healing practices that are rooted in non-Western, non-White, and non-medical models of health. I strive to bring this awareness into each of our sessions and welcome your expertise in this work.

Supervision

I provide supervision for licensure for social workers at the LSW or LGSW level. We’ll collaborate to establish your individual supervision goals and needs. However, all supervision will include discussions of use of self, theoretical perspectives and treatment modalities, diversity, equity and inclusion, ethical dilemmas, case consultation, and professional development.

consulting

First things first, what do you need? All consulting work begins with an assessment of your goals and timeline. I offer strategic visioning using theories of design thinking. My clinical skills may enhance our work together when appropriate. Whether you’re looking for ongoing consulting, curriculum development, or a one-time service, we can work together to meet your needs.
